A “soft opening” is a tradition with roots that go wwwaaayyy back and serves as a trial-run for new customer-facing businesses like restaurants, galleries and retail outlets. We just had ours and it was a rousing success! It gave our wait and kitchen staff a chance to hone their skills in a live environment.
